CNC LATHE MACHINING

CNC Lathe Machining Services
CNC Lathes cut workpieces while they are rotated. Our CNC lathes are able to make fast, precision cuts, using indexable tools and drills. They are particularly useful for making parts that would be more difficult to make on manual lathes. We usually can do anything that our manual lathe can but are fully programmable and can be left to automatically complete projects for 24/7 Production projects.
Our CNC Lathe Machines are also able to be manually programmed or adjusted, allowing a skilled user to manipulate a design until it is perfect. Once set, we can quickly create a large run that are highly accurate and identical.

CNC LATHE MACHING APPLICATIONS
A CNC lathe can be used in many different applications. While lathes were originally designed to cut metal, today’s modern CNC lathes can make use of many different materials, including soft plastics, aluminum, titanium, and even exotic metals. Lathes generally have a large workspace and can be used to create large single-piece parts that other machines may have to create out of two pieces. This is very useful in the Automobile, Aerospace/Defense, Energy and Commercial Industries.
WHY CHOOSE CNC LATHE MACHINING

24-Hour Work
Once programed with a design, it can operate until the run is complete.

Cut a Variety of Materials
Our CNC lathes can cut many different materials. This includes metals, plastics, and untraditional materials.

Little Damage or Defects
CNC lathes can reproduce the same part over and over with very little variation between the pieces.

A Variety of Sizes
The size of our CNC lathes means we can handle different sizes of materials. In fact, many projects can be done on one machine because of the size and features available.

Manufacture Things Manual Machines Can’t
The computers used on CNC lathe machines can be programmed to do many advanced tasks. Some of these tasks would take humans hours to do, if they could even do them.

Comparing EDM with conventional machining
Manufacturing engineers turn to EDM when milling, turning and grinding aren’t up to the task. It’s as if it’s a binary choice: if machining isn’t possible then chose EDM. The reality is more complex. There’s a significant middle ground where EDM and conventional processes go head-to-head. Yes, the wire EDM cutting rate is lower than…

Thin walls, tight internal radii, tapers, deep blind pockets in hard materials. Sometimes it seems designers are just trying to find the limits of what manufacturing can do. It’s as if they’re hoping manufacturing will say, “Can’t be done.” The thing is, if manufacturing only has access to conventional machining processes they’re probably right. Some…

How accurate is wire EDM?
It’s only natural that designers and toolmakers should ask about the precision of EDM. Knowing the capabilities of the process informs design decisions and influences costs. Whether the parts being made are surgical instruments, extrusion dies, or aerospace components, it’s important to know what tolerances are achievable. Unfortunately, there’s no simple answer. While accuracies of…
