Cutting surfaces on dies suffer from wear after a period of use, resulting in out of tolerance parts or an unacceptable finish. The machining process usually consists of removing small--sometimes microscopic—pieces of material, and these tiny shards sometimes adhere to the surface of the die, causing irregularities during use, thus requiring die repair.

The hardness of the machined materials eventually erodes the cutting surface, so cuts are no longer sharp or precise enough to be effective. Since dies are made from extremely hard materials, they are difficult or impossible to repair in most standard machining facilities. We have the equipment and skill to restore your die to its original precision. If you need remanufacturing—changing the die to meet new specs—we can also handle that process.
